If it's "out there" it's in here!
Do you remember the ad campaign that the Yellow Pages ran several years ago? The theme was: "if it's out there, it's in here." Flash forward to 2010. People only use on-line directories. The print version of the Yellow Pages is nearly extinct. However, the "out there," slogan is worth recycling. Big Daddy's Antiques takes great pride in the unique yet grand appeal of our stock. We are proud of the fact that we are repurposing goods and putting a unique spin on products that will surely initiate conversation. For example, check out our tables which we created from reclaimed wood barns and factory parts. You won't find other tables like it! We invite you to shop on-line or in person. If your request is "out there," we probably have it or can get it for you.

Extraordinary
We get all types of people and designers visiting our showroom. With all of their unique backgrounds, the consistent thread is that these people come to Big Daddy's Antiques because they are looking for an item (or items) that are distinct and unique. A chain store won't have the items we carry. We don't have mass-produced items, we carry treasures. We work and search far and wide to bring these items to our warehouses in San Francisco and Los Angeles. You can shop on line and we can ship to you or we welcome your in-person visit. However you decide to shop, we promise to make your visit extraordinary.

Thank you San Francisco Bay Area.
Big Daddy's Antiques Big day for Big Daddy's Antiques. Gratefully, we will celebrate the Grand Opening of our San Francisco warehouse today. The community supported us and asked us to come and we did. This party is a thank you to the Bay Area. We're giving back by hiring local vendors (florists, photographers, caterers, circus performers) ...and by donating a portion of today's proceeds to Little People of America. Thank you San Francisco. Now let's celebrate!

You Gotta Be Green
While many antiques dealers can make the claim that they are “green”, Shane Brown, owner of Big Daddy’s Antiques, takes that distinction to a new level. Brown is an avid collector of architectural relics. Repurposing parts from early 20th-century American factories and converting them into truly one-of-a-kind tables of prominence and grandeur has become a specialty. Brown has reused the lanes from bowling alleys and reclaimed wood from abandoned barns to create sophisticated table top and has used machinery parts to fashion peerless table bases. One of Brown’s recent creations is the conversion of a vent that you normally see on a roof top into a ruggedly handsome lamp. Brown has been so successful with his 48,000 square foot location in Los Angeles that he is opening a San Francisco outlet in the Design District at 1550 17th Street on October 1st.

We're "Green"!
Sure most antique dealers are "green," and environmentally friendly, but Big Daddy's Antiques is "greener" then most. We keep large items out of the landfills but we also repurpose so many items. We've made planters and urns out of the most unusal things and our tables are almost legendary. Browse our web site, stop in our stores and follow us on Facebook and Twitter. We care about the environment and you!

BD Antiques Opens in San Francisco
By Popular Demand, Big Daddy’s Antiques Opens in the Bay Area
San Francisco, CA – On October 1, Shane Brown, founder of the highly successful Big Daddy’s Antiques in Los Angeles, will celebrate the official opening of his newest location—a 13,000 square-foot showroom, conveniently situated in San Francisco’s design district at 1550 17th Street (entrance on Wisconsin). An anchor vendor at the Alameda Flea Market for years, Big Daddy’s Antiques has left Bay Area clients hungry for more. Now the wait is over.
Brown, an avid collector and longtime purveyor of architectural relics, artwork, home furnishings and historical artifacts, searches worldwide for the unique objects that make his showrooms unforgettable. Whether European, Asian, rustic, or reclaimed industrial, Brown’s finds converge into an eclectic, always-evolving mix.
If the word antiques brings you visions of stale, dusty trinkets from Grandma’s house, think again. Big Daddy’s specializes in monolithic garden ornaments, heavy tables repurposing parts from early-20th-century American factories, one-of-a-kind primitive structures, and even custom-made furniture using reclaimed materials to fit your home.
Long a trendsetter, Brown frequently serves Hollywood set designers and chain-store decorators. Because his designs frequently inspire more mainstream outlets (find the right catalogs and he can show you which ideas originated at BD Antiques), his aesthetic is always evolving. BD Antiques is not a museum, but a workshop for gathering timeless artifacts into new contexts. Not content just to ride the wave, Brown prefers to BE it.
Doors are open now for your shopping pleasure, but be sure to join BD Antiques on October 1 for their official entrance onto the Bay Area design district scene. Drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and more will be provided by "Chez Papa Bistrot"—call or check out www.bdantiques.com for further details.
