Treat Every Supper as if it Were Your Last

Long popular as "communal tables" in restaurants such as Le Pain Quotidien, bench style tables are now en vogue for home use.  These tables are more functional than standard chair-and-table combos in that they allow some wiggle room for extra guests, enable a stronger feeling of family, and offer a unique, more fun mealtime experience than a conventional dining set.  Picnicking is a family favorite that will never fall out of fashion, and with a bench table in your own home, every meal will acquire the energy of a group outing.  You do also have the option of utilizing regular individual chairs at long tables, but we also enjoy the sleek look and added flexibility of benches.
Big Daddy's carries bench tables in an array of materials and sizes, so you need not fear your own kitchen is improperly sized for one.  If you enjoy wooden tables, consider these:

Should a sleek, metallic feel ring truer to your style of decor, try the dynamic combination of a darker metal or stone table with a wooden bench, or a wooden table with a bench that has just enough steel to change the overall effect.  You can even use a smaller, thin table as a bench!

Around California, there are numerous communal table restaurants we enjoy the communal seating at.  These are a few of our favorites:

The Churchill, West Hollywood

Ubuntu, Napa

The Copper Door, Santa Ana

As always, we continue to be happy to discuss your ideas for a custom piece designed specifically to meet your style and needs.  If you're interested in treating every supper as if it were your last but are seeking a slightly different effect than something we currently have on hand, contact us; we'd love to discuss your thoughts.
